About Us
The Abia State College of Education (Technical) Arochukwu, (ASCETA) established in April 1993, was part of the Abia dream conceived by the first civilian Governor of Abia State, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu. However , Edict No. 8, Which gave the college its legal basics took retrospective effect from Aprial 01, 1993.
It is the mission of the college not only to impacting theoretical knowledge but also giving greater emphases to practical skills and experience so that the “finished products” of this College would not only be gainfully employed as teachers but could also create and generate jobs, having received training in Science, Technical, Vocational and Computer Technology among others.

The Provost
Prof. Vincent Eze Onweh
The man whom the cap fits, a dogged and distinguished scholar who has left a discernible mark in his field, Onweh, Vincent Eze (Ph.D) was born on 22nd july, 1957, in Umuika Okwu Olokoro. He is married and blessed with six children.
His professional journey commenced in the construction industry after his graduation from the technical college in Ohafia in 1976. He served as a Technical Officer at Greeco Construction and Engineering Associates Ltd, at 85/87 Okigwe Road Owerri, from 1976 to 1978. He then proceeded to Yaba, Lagos, where he obtained Advanced Craft Certificate in Block-laying and Concreting. In 1979, he earned the City and Guilds of London Certificate in Construction Crafts Supplementary Studies (F.T.C. Building). Subsequently, he moved to Sokoto State, where he worked as a General Building Supervisor for Gusau and Sokoto Building Construction Ltd from 1980 to 1983.
