The philosophy of NCE Agricultural Education programme is tied with the national philosophy on Agriculture for self-reliance based on the provision of teachers endowed with a balanced approach between principles and practice of Agriculture for academic and vocational ends.

To provide quality technical educators in Agriculture, equipping students with practical skills, scientific knowledge and entrepreneurial competencies necessary for modern farming, agric-business and agricultural extension services; through training, research and partnerships with industry stakeholders.

Admission Requirements

General Requirements
  • Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSC), GCE 'O' Level/NECO/NABTEB OR Grade II Teachers' certificate (TCII) with credit in 5 subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, at no more than two sittings.
  • Candidates with SSC/NECO/NABTEB must have credits in Biology or Agricultural Science and Chemistry, and any one of the following: Physics, Geography, or Economics. TCII certificate holders must have credit or merit in General Science/Integrated Science and Agricultural Science.
  • All candidates must satisfy JAMB requirements and pass a selection interview.
